The Pointe à Larrée Protected Area is located between the rural communes of Manompana and Antanifotsy, in the Soanierana-Ivongo District, Analanjirofo Region. This unique ecosystem is one of the largest remnants of Madagascar’s coastal forest (humid forest on ancient sand dunes), covering an area of 770 hectares managed as a Protected Area. The buffer zone, spanning 2,100 hectares, is managed by local communities organized within a federation of associations.

To date, the biological inventory of this site includes:

- Over 500 native plant species of Madagascar, including 83 remarkable species classified as threatened on the IUCN Red List. Notable species include Dracaena umbraculifera, once believed to be extinct, Dalbergia normandii and Dalbergia hassoldii, two rosewood species now exceptionally rare due to overexploitation, and species new to science, including two ebony species: Diospyros soanieranensis and Diospyros capitis-larreei.

- Six lemur species inhabit this forest: Eulemur fulvus (Varikosy), Eulemur rubriventer (Alomena), Hapalemur occidentalis (Bokombolo), Avahi laniger (Fotsiaifaka), Cheirogaleus major (Matavirambo), and Microcebus sp. (Tsidy).

- 76 bird species, including vulnerable waterbirds: Ardeola idae (Tombomiova), Anas melleri (Rahaka), which live in the marshes and lakes of the peninsula, and near-threatened species such as Lophotibis cristata (Akolahiala).

Aire Protégée de Pointe à Larrée

L'aire Protégée de Pointe à Larrée est située entre la commune rurale de Manompana et Antanifotsy,dans le District de Soanierana-Ivongo,Région d'Analanjirofo .Cet écosystème unique constitue l'un des plus grands frangments de forêt littorale de Madagascar(forêt humide sur aciennes dunes de sable), couvrant une superficie de 770 hectares,gérés en Aire protegée.La zone tampon,d'une superficie de 2100  hectares,est sous la gestion des communautés locales,organisées au sein d'une Fédération d'associations.

Forêt de Bezavona

La forêt de Bezavona, située dans les communes rurales de Marotandrano et Antanambaon'Amberina, dans le District de Mandritsara, région de Sofia, a récemment fait l’objet d’une mission de reconnaissance. Cette mission a révélé l'importance capitale de la forêt et a souligné l’urgence de son intégration au sein du réseau des Aires Protégées de Madagascar.
