The Pointe à Larrée Protected Area is located between the rural communes of Manompana and Antanifotsy, in the Soanierana-Ivongo District, Analanjirofo Region. This unique ecosystem is one of the largest remnants of Madagascar’s coastal forest (humid forest on ancient sand dunes), covering an area of 770 hectares managed as a Protected Area. The buffer zone, spanning 2,100 hectares, is managed by local communities organized within a federation of associations.
